Mission Statement
Our Mission
The mission of Think F.A.S.T (Finding a Solution Together) is to provide a range of high-quality health, fitness, educational and personal development programmes for children and young people in St Helens and beyond, particularly the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our community.
Our Vision
To unlock the potential, we believe is present in all young people, to enable them to make positive change in their lives and create the conditions for those changes to be sustained and maximise their life opportunities.
Our Values
Children First - we will apply ‘children first’ principles and look beyond the immediate presenting behaviours to understand the needs. risks and circumstances of each participating child/young person rather than approach them as a troublesome pupil, persistent absentee, or offender - adjusting and refining our approach accordingly. We will work with young people to co-construct solutions - with safeguarding at the heart of all we do.
Integrity and Accountability - we will work with integrity, openness and accountability - explaining what we offer to young people, what we expect in return and how we will measure our progress. Talking and listening to our young people, partners and stakeholders throughout will be a key feature of our work.
Dedication, Persistence and Resilience - we recognise that change does not always come immediately and that many of our young people have been let down or failed previously. This will require persistence and resilience on our part – looking beyond the core programme to support programme graduates over the longer term. We will, at all times, demonstrate our commitment to the discipline and dedication inherent in the Think F.A.S.T model.
Creativity and flexibility - the discipline and structure of boxing training is at the heart of our programme and we will use those core elements creatively and flexibly in order to maximise participation and progress.
Aspirational – we will be highly aspirational for our young people; challenging and supporting them to be the best they can be. We will take an asset-based approach and seek to find solutions with young people, that build on their strengths rather than catalogue their weaknesses.
Our Goals
To establish Think F.A.S.T, with our key partners and stakeholders, as a highly valued and integral element within the local ‘offer’ for children and young people in St Helens and beyond.
To maximise to the scope and success of our programmes for young people.
To develop positive, long-term relationships with participating young people, establishing clear pathways for their progression into education, employment, and training.
To achieve sustained, positive change for all young people participating in our programmes.
